Leonard Jaffe, M.D.
Dr. Jaffe is an orthopaedic
surgeon on staff at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Jaffe
has been a team physician for a major professional NJ hockey
team for over 15 years and is a team physician for a professional
boxing team. Dr. Jaffe graduated from the Chicago Medical
School, University Health Sciences and completed his internship
at Albert Einstein College - Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Jaffe completed an orthopaedic residency at New York
University Medical Center and went on to complete a fellowship
there for sports related injuries.
Dr. Jaffe is a charter member of the Greater
Metropolitan Sports Medicine Society, a Charter Member of the NHL Team
Physicians Association, is on the Board of Fellows for the Association of
Professional Team Physicians, and is a member of the following: the
American College of Sports Medicine, the American Medical Soccer Association
and the Greater Metropolitan Sports Medicine Society.

Edward Decter, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Decter is an orthopaedic surgeon on staff
at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Decter is the head team physician for
the NY/NJ MetroStars and is a consulting team physician for several academic
teams. Dr. Decter graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine in
Nebraska and completed his residency at the Hospital for Joint Diseases,
Orthopaedic Institute in New York. He also completed a general surgery
internship at Temple University.
Dr. Decter is a member of the following
organizations: the American Medical Soccer Association, the American
College of Sports Medicine, the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the
International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Sports Medicine, and
several medical and professional associations. Dr. Decter is also a diplomate
of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American
College of Surgeons. Additionally, he has published numerous scientific
articles about sports medicine. 
Frederick Gordon, M.D.
Dr. Gordon is an orthopaedic surgeon on staff
at Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Gordon has been the orthopaedic
consultant for the NJ Ballet for approximately 20 years. Dr. Gordon graduated
from the New York University School of Medicine and completed his residency at
New York University-Bellevue Medical Center. While at New York University he
also completed an orthopaedic fellowship where he concentrated on arthritis,
rheumatic disease and joint replacement.
Dr. Gordon is a fellow of the American College of
Surgeons, a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and is a
diplomate of the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons. Dr. Gordon's area of
special interests are dance medicine and orthopaedics as related to
professional dancers and students of dance. 
John Z. Shumko, M.D., Ph.D.
Dr. Shumko is the Chairman of Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation for Saint Barnabas Medical Center, and is the
Medical Director for the Sports Medicine Institute and the Comprehensive
Rehabilitation Center. Dr. Shumko is a board certified physiatrist and is a
diplomate of the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Dr.
Shumko received his medical degree from the University of Medicine and
Dentistry - New Jersey Medical School as well as a doctorate degree in
Anatomy. Prior to joining Saint Barnabas, he was the Medical Director of the
Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation Center in New York.
Dr. Shumko is a fellow of the American Academy of
Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and a diplomate of the Association of
Academic Physiatrists. Additionally, he has published numerous scientific
articles and has presented at multiple national conferences on sports and
non-sports related topics.

H. Mahmood Cheema, M.D.
Dr. Cheema is the Section Chief for the
Division of Orthopaedic Surgery for Saint Barnabas Medical Center. Dr. Cheema
graduated from King Edward Medical College in Lahore, Pakistan, and completed
his residency at the Graduate Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania at
Philadelphia. He also completed an orthopaedic fellowship at the Orthopaedic
and Arthritic Hospital in Toronto, Canada, as well as at Saint Barnabas
Medical Center, concentrating on Joint Replacement and Trauma.
Dr Cheema is a diplomate of the American Board of
Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a
fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a fellow member of
the International College of Surgeons. He is also a fellow of the Royal
Society of Medicine, in London, England.
